AI GLOSSARY
Bayesian Optimisation
Bayesian optimisation is a probabilistic approach used to optimise black-box functions where evaluations are expensive. It builds a surrogate model, typically a Gaussian process, to estimate the objective function and selects the most promising next evaluation point based on this model. This technique is effective in scenarios where the objective function is costly to evaluate, such as hyperparameter tuning in machine learning.
